Bull Buyer Draw

Our bull buyer draw will be back again for 2023! Just for purchasing a registered Limousin, you can be entered to win one of 3 $1000 PRIZES!!

Prizes are in the form of a credit that can be used to purchase a registered animal from and ALA member.

CONDITIONS

The seller must be an ALA member in good standing. The list of current members is available here. A request to transfer ownership of the bull must be received by the CLA office by the deadline. Bulls sold through auction or by private treaty are eligible.

DRAW

The draw will take place at the Annual ALA Field Day, held the third weekend in June.

The Alberta Limousin Association is proud to sponsor awards for Alberta 4-H members who exhibit Limousin projects at their local Achievement Days.

If you, or a member of your club, has exhibited a Limousin influenced animal as your project, please have the club leader submit this form.

We love sharing the success and enthusiasm of all 4-H members, and would love to share photos of your projects. If you have found success with a Limousin project, please share them with us on our facebook page or send them to info@albertalimousin.ca.

Field Day

Summer Field Day & AGM

Each year, our members host a field day in conjunction with our Annual General Meeting where participants have the opportunity to tour purebred or commercial Limousin herds in different parts of the province.

Each year is a unique, fun event as the local organizing committee has the freedom to select tours, speakers or activities for members to enjoy.

If you are new to the Limousin breed, or are interested in learning more, this is a great opportunity to meet Limousin breeders, and see some of the exciting genetics Alberta has to offer in action. Check out our Events Page for information on the upcoming Field Day.

Our annual calendar auction is also held in conjunction with this event. If you are interested in advertising in the calendar, please join us at the field day or send your bids with a member who will be attending. If you are an ALA member interested in hosting the field day in your area, please contact a member of the Board of Directors.

Calendar Auction

ALA Calendar

The ALA Calendar is our biggest annual fundraiser - and a great way to promote your farm or related business! Each year we auction off 12 full page ads and 12 strip ads. Your auction purchase includes custom ad design, as well as your sale or event featured on it's calendar date.

The calendars are then printed and mailed out with the December issue of the Limousin Voice, and handed out at events throughout the province. Our calendars feature due dates, so they are a frequent reference during breeding and calving season and viewed daily on many farms.

The annual calendar auction is usually held in conjunction with the Field Day, or has been held online in years we have not been able to hold the field day. Bonanza Show

Alberta Limousin Bonanza Gold Show

The Alberta Limousin Bonanza Gold Show is held annually each November in conjunction with Farmfair International. This show is an opportunity for breeders from Alberta and beyond to display the best of their herds.

New exhibitors are always welcome, or if you are just interested in seeing what the Limousin breed has to offer this is a great opportunity to come walk through the barns, meet new breeders and see some of the exciting new genetics that are available.

The ALA is committed to promoting the Limousin breed and the interests of our members through advertising and other marketing endeavours.

The ALA display booth, which consists of signage and promotional materials, is available to all ALA members for use at their events.
