AGM & Field Day
Plan to join us for some summer fun at our Annual General Meeting.
Our AGM provides a great opportunity for meeting up with fellow Limousin breeders from across Alberta. It is typically held in conjunction with a Field Day hosted by various members across the province. Each year is unique as the local organizing committee has the freedom to select activities such as farm tours, guest speakers, or fun activities like golfing. Our Calendar Auction fundraiser is also typically held at this event.
If you are new to the Limousin breed, or are interested in learning more, this is a great opportunity to meet Limousin breeders, and see some of the exciting genetics Alberta has to offer in action.

The 2026 AGM will take place on July 25 at the Wolf Creek Gold Resort in Ponoka.
Limousin Bonanza Show
The Alberta Limousin Bonanza Gold Show is held annually each November in conjunction with Farmfair International. This show is an opportunity for breeders from Alberta and beyond to display the best of their herds.
New exhibitors are always welcome, or if you are just interested in seeing what the Limousin breed has to offer this is a great opportunity to come walk through the barns, meet new breeders and see some of the exciting new genetics that are available.

4-H Rewards
We love to see 4-H members showing Limousin projects!
The Alberta Limousin Association is proud to sponsor awards for Alberta 4-H members who exhibit Limousin projects at their local Achievement Days.
If you, or a member of your club, will be exhibiting Limousin influenced animal as your project this year, please have the club leader submit our 4-H Awards form.
We love sharing the success and enthusiasm of all 4-H members, and would love to share photos of your projects. If you have found success with a Limousin project, please share them with us on our facebook page or send them to info@albertalimousin.ca.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to provide members who are exhibiting Limousin and Limousin influenced projects with high quality prizes, the ALA now has an application window in which clubs must apply for prizes. The application window is from January 1 - May 1 annually. No applications will be accepted after May 1. The ALA will be ordering the exact number of prizes that are applied at the time of application closure, in efforts to provide 4-H members with quality prizes in a timely manner within their 4-H season.
The application form will be visible below while applications are open.
Commercial Buyers Draw
Purchase a registered Limousin bull from an active ALA member and you can be entered to win one of 3 $1000 prizes.
Prizes are in the form of a credit that can be used to purchase a registered animal from an active ALA member.
DRAW
The draw will take place at the Annual ALA Field Day or AGM, typically held the third weekend in June.
CONDITIONS
The seller must be an ALA member in good standing. A request to transfer ownership of the animal must be received by the CLA office by the deadline. Registered animals sold through auction or by private treaty are eligible.
Commercial Breeder of the Year
Our Commercial Breeder of the Year award is back!
The ALA is excited to announce the reinstatement of the Commercial Breeder of the Year award! This award is to honor those who have been longtime supporters, ambassadors and advocates for the use of Limousin genetics in the commercial beef sector.
ALA Members are welcome to nominate breeders. One winner will be awarded annually, to be announced at the AGM.
Please submit your nominations by June 20, 2026.
Advertise with Us
The ALA is excited to announce the launch of the Membership Sale Promotion Initiative!
This initiative program will offer promotional services for members' sales (bull & female sales, feeder cattle sales & private treaty sales) by advertising submitted sale material on the ALA facebook page.
Members must be in good standings (paid/up to date membership & no outstanding bills) and must submit their sale details through the member sale promotion form.
Breed Promotion & ALA Booth
The ALA is committed to promoting the Limousin breed and the interests of our members through advertising and other marketing endeavours.
The ALA display booth, which consists of signage and promotional materials, is available to all ALA members for use at their events.

Calendar Auction
Support the ALA and promote your farm or business all year long.
Each year we offer up the opportunity to purchase full page or strip ad space in our upcoming calendar. Your auction purchase includes custom ad design, as well as your sale or event featured on it's calendar date.
The calendars are then printed and mailed out to approximately 1200 livestock producers across Canada, and handed out at events throughout the province. Our calendars feature due dates, so they are a frequent reference during breeding and calving season and viewed daily on many farms.
The annual calendar auction is usually held in conjunction with the Field Day, or has been held online in years we have not been able to hold an in-person event.
